Oatmeal does naturally contain saponins, but it does not include any detergent and other chemicals that can be harmful to their skin. You can wash your dog in an oatmeal bath with only colloidal oats to completely eliminate the usage of unnatural ingredients, but this won’t be useful if the dog has flees.

For shorter dogs, a 1/2 cup of ground oatmeal along with a cup of Epsom salt added to the warm water can be enough. But you can increase the quantity of oatmeal according to the size of your dog and the bathtub they are soaking in.

Dissolve the oatmeal completely in the water by stirring the mixture with your hand as much as possible. Oatmeal baths are the most effective and cheapest way to treat the itchy, dry and irritated skin conditions of your dog.
